Savvas is an experienced investment advisor and risk management expert, with expertise in Private Equity and Venture Capital. He started out as an investment banker with Morgan Stanley in London. He later set up his own investment advisory company which he successfully exited to a local financial institution. For the past 10+ years, he has also been acting as risk manager and member of the board CEE Equity Partners, a boutique fund management company investing in Central and Eastern Europe.
At Abacus, he leads the firm’s Business Advisory unit, with emphasis on M&A, Fundraising, Valuations, Due Diligence, Regulation/Investment Funds. He Chairs the firm’s Risk Management Committee and is also a Senior Strategic Advisor to the Board.
Savvas holds an LLB from the University of Bristol and an MBA from INSEAD Business School. He holds an advocate licence from the Cyprus Bar Association and an Associateship Diploma (ACCI) from the Chartered Insurance Institute. He is a SFA licensed advisor and UK broker dealer. He is also a holder of the Advanced Competency Certificate for all investment services issued by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission and has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.
