Irene started her career in indirect taxation and specialised in VAT advisory and compliance. She spent almost 20 years with KPMG in a senior management role, advising local and international clients on complex indirect tax matters, including EU and cross‑border issues.
She later moved to an international private group/family office as an in‑house VAT lead, where she handled complex and critical indirect tax matters, working closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors.
Irene is a lawyer by background and has also obtained her MBA, bringing a balanced technical and commercial perspective to her work. As Head of Indirect Tax at Abacus, she leads the firm’s indirect tax practice, supporting international clients across a wide range of advisory and compliance engagements.
