A graduate of Oxford University (1991), he built a distinguished career, including leadership roles as a partner at major international law firms Baker Botts and Stephenson Harwood.
His expertise spans financing transactions on both the borrower and lender sides, with a particular focus on project finance, debt restructuring, acquisitions, and dispute resolution. He has advised clients across a range of industries, including oil & gas (upstream, midstream, and downstream), metals & mining, and real estate. Additionally, he has extensive experience in the acquisition and disposal of private companies and in managing complex, high-stakes litigation.
Rubin brings deep insight into developing markets transactions, having worked extensively in emerging economies. His expertise has been consistently recognized by Chambers UK (2011 to 2023) and Chambers Global (since 2014) for his outstanding work in the energy sector.
